MODEL WORKSHOP
PHYSICAL 3D MODELS
HOW WE WORK WITH PHYSICAL 3D MODELS AT NORDISK 3D SERVICE?
(formerly Norsk 3D Service AS in Norway and Scan 3D Innovation AB in Sweden)
PHYSICAL 3D MODELS AT NORDISK 3D SERVICE

Over the years, we have produced many advanced 3D models for various purposes. Whether it's architectural models, sales models for real estate projects, industrial models for trade shows and exhibitions, prototypes for evaluation, or props for TV and film production, the only limit is your imagination.

Together with our design team, high-resolution
3D print, and our unique ability to combine digital with traditional art and craftsmanship techniques, we create unique 3D models in collaboration with our clients. We put a lot of effort into each project, and before delivering the model to you, we have a personal relationship with both the model and you as a partner.

We are here to help create the exact model you envision or even exceed your expectations.
WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER IF YOU WANT TO CREATE A 3D MODEL?
A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES!
-
What expression and result do you desire?
-
What is the purpose of your model and what do you want to communicate with it?

-
Level of detail, scale, and perspective are interconnected. A scale of, for example, 1:50 can provide a high level of detail with the possibility of authentic use of colors and other visual effects, but with a smaller perspective. A scale of 1:1000 may be more suitable for illustration and allows for presenting large objects or areas.
3D FILE AS THE BASIS FOR
3D MODELS
WHAT IS YOUR STARTING POINT AND BASIS FOR CREATING A 3D MODEL?

We always need to transform your 3D base so that it can be used for 3D production. We can use most types of 3D files as a starting point, but it's best if we can receive files in standard 3D formats such as IFC, STP, SLDPRT, or DWG. Also, consider whether you can prepare the 3D files by removing irrelevant elements.
Remember that the model needs to be scaled down, so screws and other small elements can be removed. If you have a BIM model, you probably shouldn't include internal structures, etc. This simplifies our work, reduces the overall costs, and, most importantly, the delivery time.
RESOURCES
WHAT INTERNAL RESOURCES DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE TO US?

In the design and planning phase, we require continuous clarifications and approvals. We will work closely together during a period - we know you'll find it enjoyable!
BUDGET
WHAT BUDGET DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE?

A 3D model can have different expressions and complexities. This will affect the cost level of the model. We will tailor a budget together with you, based on your input and possibilities.
YOUR VISION
MOST IMPORTANTLY

Think through the details in advance. We design and produce a 3D model in a sequence that builds upon each other. It's similar to building a house: "laying the foundation first". Late changes in the process can lead to many steps backward in the project. Changes along the way can also be costly and cause delays.
